Health, Safety and the Environment

Australian International Petro-Consultants (AIPC)  is a responsible company committed to the health and safety of people and the protection of the environment while supplying geological services in a safe and sustainable manner. We believe this commitment adds value to our customers, employees, contractors and shareholders.

  • AIPC will promote our HS&E goals through the following measures; 
  • Continual improvement toward zero incidents and the protection of the environment. 
  • Management commitment, effective communication and training to ensure environmental protection, and the safety and health of our employees and contractors. 
  • Accountability by all contractors and employees for HS&E matters. 
  • Via consultation ensure all employees and contractors understand that safety and environmental protection is paramount and that they are responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them. 
  • Promoting a culture where good HS&E practices are exercised freely and are valued processes to control the risk and negative impact as we conduct our business. 
  • Integration of our HS&E goals into customers HS&E processes to identify and control risks that reduce the possible impacts on the business plans and operations . 
  • AIPC personnel are encouraged to work with customers in relation to audits and reviews of HS&E systems and performance. 
  • Compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and relevant industry standards in the countries in which we operate. . Where our goals and those of our customers exceed the country’s requirements AIPC personnel will abide by the higher of either AIPC's or the customer’s goals.

This policy will be regularly reviewed in the light of changes to the workplace and changes in legislation.

Privacy Statement

Your privacy is important to us and in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy and confidentiality, we outline below a clear indication of how we comply with the privacy legislation covering your personal information.

What your personal information is

Personal information is any information or an opinion about you. It may range from the very sensitive (e.g. medical history or condition) to the everyday (e.g. address and phone number). It would include the opinions of others about your work performance, your work experience and qualifications, and other information obtained by us in connection with your possible work placements. Sensitive information is a special category of personal information and can, in most cases, only be disclosed with your consent.

How your information will be collected

  • Personal information will be collected from you directly when you submit a CV application or personnel data sheet to us.
  • Personal or sensitive information will also be collected when:
  • we receive any reference about you; 
  • we receive results of inquiries that we might make of your former employers, work colleagues, professional associations or registration body; 
  • we receive the results of any competency or medical test; 
  • we receive performance feedback (whether positive or negative); 
  • we receive any complaint from or about you in the workplace; 
  • we receive any information about a workplace accident in which you are involved; 
  • we receive any information about any insurance investigation, litigation, registration or professional disciplinary matter, criminal matter, inquest or inquiry in which you are involved; 
  • you provide us with any additional information about you. 

Your personal or sensitive information may be used in connection with:

  • your actual or possible work placement; 
  • any test or assessment (including medical tests and assessments) that you might be required to undergo; 
  • our management of any complaint, investigation or inquiry in which you are involved; 
  • Any insurance claim or proposal that requires disclosure of your personal or sensitive information. 
  • Your personal or sensitive information may be disclosed to...
  • potential and actual employers and clients of AIPC; 
  • referees; 
  • our insurers; 
  • a professional association or registration body that has a proper interest in the disclosure of your personal and sensitive information; 
  • a Workers Compensation body; 
  • our contractors and suppliers - e.g. our I.T. support contractors and database designers; 
  • Any person with a lawful entitlement to obtain the information.

Drug and Alcohol Statement

Australian International Petro-Consultants (AIPC) supports the Australian Institute of Geoscientists Code of Ethics with regards to the expected standards of conduct for professional Geoscientists. AIPC recognizes the obligation to our clients to provide a safety conscious, healthy and productive team of consultants. AIPC recognizes that alcohol, drug or other substance abuse by our consultants may impair their ability to perform properly and have adverse effects on the safety, efficiency and productivity of themselves and those around them at the worksite. AIPC does not condone the misuse of legitimate drugs, or the use, possession, distribution or sale of illicit or un-prescribed controlled drugs in any situation or under any circumstances. AIPC is committed to ensuring that the policies and requirements of our clients are met with regard to alcohol and drug use or misuse at the worksite.

Firearms, Weapons and Explosives

Australian International Petro-Consultants (AIPC) employees, contractors and management are prohibited from possessing firearms, explosives or weapons (referred to as “weapons”) on AIPC premises or in relation to AIPC contracts, whether or not any government -federal or state- license to possess the same has been issued to the possessor.

Unannounces Searches, Tests and Removal from the Premises

Australian International Petro-Consultants (AIPC)  and their Clients have the right to conduct unannounced searches and tests for the above. AIPC will test personnel on a 12 month basis.

Any failure to comply with the above or failure to pass such tests will lead to the removal of the individual from the premises/contract.
